Running Rough

My Formula started running very rough yesterday.
When I start it the idle speed is fine and it runs ok for about 5 minutes, after that the engine loses alot of power, I will press on the gas and the revs will not raise. If I put it to the floor and kick the revs up (above 3000 RPMs) it will run fine. It also idles very low and feels like it wants to stall out.

Anyone else have this problem?
What could cause this?

My Haynes guide sugguested checking the EGR Solonoid and my dad and I think it may be shot, the EGR valve works fine, we squeezed the diaphram and the engine died right out. All sparkplug wires are good, both at the OptiSpark and plugs.

Should I replace the Solonoid? its a $25 dollar part, so no big deal
Could it be the fuel injectors?

Please help

Kinda sounds like what my 95 did a year or two ago when the coil went out.

thats a good idea, thanks

After I installed the headers the #5 wire melted and began to arc to the header, maybe this killed my coil

Any other suggestions?

I just took it to the parts store and a code for "random misfire" came up, but nothing specific

Opti

The mechanic we go to thinks it could be the optispark.
It seems to run ok now for some reason, but is still a little flat
