Running rich, need help!
Re: Running rich, need help!
Trust me, if the fuse was blown it would be impossible for those injectors to fire, unless those injectors are leaking. When the key is on the on position, each injector receives 12V, but are only opened until the PCM emits ground pulses to each injector in accordande to the firing order. Without the fuse there is no power, and hence cannot fire.
Do a test, take out the fuse from one bank and check for power on the harness with the ignition key on.
Send me a before and after datamaster log of the car, and I will note differences. I have datamaster for a 95. Send them to me at joe.gonzalez@trw.com
I bet if anything, your plugs on the dead cylinders are just lightly stained with black carbon dust if anything.

Re: Running rich, need help!
I dont know if i will be able to get you a before scan because i could hardly get it to run and when i did get it to run decently, i didnt get a chance to do a scan. I can however get you an after data log and will be more than happy if you can take the time to look over it for me. I will do this tonight and send you an email either tonight or tomorrow. Thanks again.

Hey Brandon, I took a quick glimpse at your e-mail but I have to say that you scan is a wasted effort. You will never truly know how you car is performing with open headers. But for the meanwhile.......
1.) Your 2 DTC's are for both 02's sensor reading "MAX" lean, which 99% sure is the result of you running open headers.
2.) Your Long Term BLM are pegged at "MAX" of 160 both sides, which means it is Lean and is trying to correct it by adding additional fuel. Your car should still be running rich because of this. It is what is called a "False Lean Condition".
3.) Your Vaccum readings are definitely low, even at your set idle rpm of 1,000. This is probably a side effect of the engine running rich. BAR is are 30.63 and your MAP readings hover around 20 to 23, which equals vaccum as low as 7. You cam is rather big, but I would have to aim somewhere around 10-11 inches for the norm, and will result in better idle and driveability.
4.) You have seem to have a constant 4 degrees of spark retard, which could result from you extra loud exhause (open headers).
5.) The PCM is opening you IAC valve to the "MAX" just to idle, it is constantly at max 160 (Fully opened). This could be because you are running rich. Having the IAC that high can definetely lead to frequent stalling, surging, when under load. You need to aim around 40-55 with that cam, maybe a tad higher.
Well that is it for now, I think most of you problem will be solved or lessened after you hook up an exhaust to that monster. Once you get it hooked up send me another log, but give you car a couple PCM cycles by driving it around the block several times.
Good Luck

Re: Running rich, need help!
Thanks alot man. Yea the retard from knock i think is mainly from the open headers and my pass side header hits on the k frame when at idle. It will solve alot if issues when i get the exhaust but most def get another several scans after the exhaust is on and eventually get a FULL dyno tune. Thanks for the help and i will send you a video of the car if you want to see it running.
