rr's got dust on them... bad?

Hey, I took my motor apart like 3 months ago, and the rr's were left sitting out and got lots of dust on them. I was wondering if I can take these to the machine shop to get them cleaned? or are they ruined?

I would think that if you soaked them in oil, they would be fine.

i would get some kerosene and wash them off and blow dry them with an airgun.

Thats exactly what i did except i used mineral spirits worked great.

No, dust will not ruin them...but it is always wise to put parts in ziplock bags as they come off the motor.

Are you saying you have rust on them, or dust? I can't imagine having to take them to a machine shop if dust is on them. Mineral spirits will take care of dust, like others said. I would soak them in engine oil after that after you've cleaned them.

k, mineral spirits it is. I am guessing this will work for the lifters and pushrods as well?
