Roller Rockers - New Valve Covers?

Im installing 1.6 Comp Pro Magnum 7/16 non self aligning roller rockers with GM guide plates. Do i need any modification to my stock valve covers? Or do i need completely new valve covers? If so where can i get them?

Two options, gut the insides of your stockers, which is easy. Or buy aftermarket ones, I did a writeup on how to get aftermarket ones to fit. Search "valve covers"

With some modification, I understand it is not necessary to replace the oem valve covers. BUT golly, what a great reason to now move up to a nice set of aftermarket alum covers and get rid of those ugly oem jobs.

Well i just got chrome oem's. I dont really have a problem getting somthing else if it will work without modifcation. But if everything needs modification, ill just stick with these.

I modified the inside of my stockers with a grinder. Rather simple task.

All it takes is to remove a bit of metal from the braces that support the vc bolt tubes. I used an air grinder with a small cut off wheel. Clean the valve covers out well afterwards.

There is a support bracket on each hold down bolt tube. They are wide enough that they won't fit between the rockers so you have to trim the support between the rockers. The support has a 90 degree bend along the edge that you grind off.

All you have to do is bend the little lip of the brace that is running parallel to the top of the valve cover. One on each side of the bolt tubes.

I heard that if you cut to much of the bracing out it could cause the vavle covers to leak after they are tightened down.

I have the same valvetrain setup as you, and with lt4 valve covers I have no clearance issues at all. But like the others said it isnt very hard to modify the stockers to fit.
