Rocker Arm Wear

Ive been hunting down a tick in my motor and noticed this wear on my roller tip. You can see it in this pic on the side of the arm right by the roller. Is that normal? Ive noticed all the rockers have this.

These are self aligning right?

looks like the valve tip is smacking the rocker. could be because the rocker was adjusted too loose.

are you sure those are self-aligning? mine are self-aligning and they look a bit different than that. Maybe I'm wrong though

Those are self aligning.

Did you replace the springs when you installed the rockers? Looks like the retainer might be making contact with the rocker. Some use offset locks to compensate for this type of thing, but you have to be careful with install heights.

Thomas.

I think its rubbing the valves stem tip. The locks are retainers are below where the rocker can touch them. ALL my rockers show a little wear, but this one was the worse. This particular one was also noisier than the rest.

Is there no pushrod cup in that rocker? Did you get these rockers used or new?

Yes, they are Comp's Pro Magnums and the pushrod cup is correct. The cups are part of the rocker body, not an add on.

That damage is from the valve tip! do you have guide plates? if so get rid of them or run non self allighning. dont use the two togather.
