Rev limiter will not read over 1,000 RPM

I have a 1993 Camaro Z28, my RPM gauge reads just fine under 1,000 RPM's, But will fall down to 0 after the engine revs above 1,000. PLease help. Thanks, Daniel

Thanks, for everyones help, i found out i had a 94+ cluster, i bypassed the tach filter and it works perfect. Thanks, for everyones help.

I suspect you didn't get much in the way of responses, because calling it a "rev limiter" in the topic didn't really make it clear you were asking about the tachometer (or "rpm gauge").
