Replacing opti in a Corvette?

Replacing opti in a Corvette?

Does anyone have link to a step by step procedure for doing this? It looks to me like its a lot harder to do in the Corvette than the Camaro because of the frame running across the front of the motor and the power steering rack. It looks like you have to tilt the motor to get a puller on the balancer to me, but if there;s an easier way, I'd much rather go that route. Thanks in advance. Also the car is a '94 if that matters.

You do not need to pull the balancer off

Just take off the 3 bolts that hold the pulley on and take only the pulley off

The opti will slide off past the pulley

It may just come off, but if it doesn't, you can get a puller on it. I used a small 2-jaw puller on it, running the screw of the puller under the loop on the p/s hardline.

If you search on corvetteforum you can find plenty of threads on the subject, many with pictures. Probably can find info on other corvette forums as well.

Your terminology is very confused. Pull the pulley off but slide the opti off past the pulley?

The balancer does have to come off. The balancer is the pulley.

Yep, probably better to get good info from a Corvette forum, rather than from an f-body forum.
