removing plug #6 with Hooker LTs?

OK, I'm getting frustrated, how the hell does #6 get removed with Hooker LTs?
#8 was pain enough (from underneath with a wrench on the end of the spark plug socket)
What's the secret for #6?

If you are using a spark plug socket with the rubber insert take take the rubber out and it will likey fit on there now.

Or get a offset 5/8 inch wrench or a regular wrench and get it directly at the base of the spark plug and try to keep the swearing to a minimum.

Also depends on how you put your dipstick try to move that around as well.

I always take the starter off to get to #6 and #8 from underneath...no problemo...

Re: removing plug #6 with Hooker LTs?

I always get at #6 & #8 from the bottom. I leave the starter in and I have a spark plug socket that I cut down to 2" with my die grinder. I use a ratcheting box end wrench on the hex head of the socket and I'm just able to get enough rotation to break them free (and torque them back down). The hardest part is to get the boots off after they've been stuck on there for awhile. I just changed all my plugs a few weeks ago, it took me 1 hr and 35 minutes.

I have the hookers and a socket that is cut down as well. I say about 45 minutes top, but my engine bay is far from stock.

This will probably end up being the easiest way.

I have hooker lts and use an open ended wrench on a spark plug socket. I can get all of them in/out, althout a few are a pain. I keep meaning to get one of those cut down ones, but never have.

I have RK-sport headers and I have determined it would be easier to just remove the right side header to replace the plugs. #2 and #4 are very hard to reach due to the primaries. The other two I can get with the starter off also.

Exactly what I do. Mucho easier. Can be done from the top, but I'm not that much of a bad dude

well, the socket I bought and cut off wouldn't work, hole in it not big enough to go down on the spark plug, so I wound up cutting up my Craftsman anyway! Oh well, 10 minutes, off/on though!
