383ci= running like crap and backfireing...

383ci + other bolt-ons.

problem.. After start up for like the first min and 1/2 the car runs perfect. nothing wrong.

After that.. my car starts missing from 800rpms to about 3,000rpms. during this time it will slip flames and pop very loud. its not from the same cly each time because i have duals and it seems to be from different sides at differenet times.

On the highway i can't use 6th because it lugs the motor tomuch and makes it miss and backfire.

The car is not running any codes. 40psi on the fuel.

I have check for lose wires and so on but nothing..

HELP!!!

Check to make sure the wires go to the right plugs. I crossed two when I did my lt install and it ran like you described.

Get a datalog! Sometimes people have problems with the ICM located beside the coil. Supposidly the searing heat generated by the heads will start to affect the sensor. Moving the coil off the head or spacing it off the head will help but Id start my replacing the ICM and/or the coil. Or swap with a friend if you can.

OK just did that and no change. I even had another coil and ICM and changed it.

Still does the same thing

The wires might be arcing. Run it at night and you might be able to see where your problem is.

I had MSD wires. they are good but very easy to mess up.

I got the ellite 9mm OVC wires. They look better and stay away from the headers!!
