refer back to what Injuneer said
You can't even see it.
It's not in the way of anything.

ok so i still have the engine out and im installing the cc 304 into it and eventually having a tune done.....is it going to in any way hurt my engine to remove the egr system and the air system??? please just give me a rock bottom answer
What headers are you using? If you have something similar to the Kooks street headers with EGR and AIR fittings you might as well just leave them in. If you have race/super comp headers you should probably take the two out because they will be serving no purpose. As already mentioned, the EGR is hardly visible but the AIR system removal cleans up the engine bay a little bit by removing the thick black hoses.
Short answer:
You'll be fine.
Long(er) answer:
The air pump does nothing to your engine. It just helps your cats work better when the exhaust/engine is cold.
When you upgrade your cam, you get more overlap, which gives more of an EGR-like effect - so you need the EGR less than a stock cammed engine does.

There are a few options.
IMHO the best way to do it is remove the entire system other than the fuse and pigtail (wrap it in electrical tape).
Remove the air pump and the bracket that bolts to the engine block. Remove all the hoses and metal piping. Then get some pipe plugs for your headers or manifolds. Or if you're doing headers, get non-emissions ones (I wish I had non emissions headers).

Hey there fellow Michigander! Just zip tie the connectors from the deleted EGR and Air Pump system out of the way. Then since you have headers just block off the ports on your intake and if your headers have ports to allow for the EGR connections just block them off. Or...... I just chopped mine off with a cut off wheel and welded the hole up
Good Luck with the build, and checkout www.mifbody.com its the local Michigan F Body board.
