Re: Removing AC Compressor

Remove belt. Remove 3 13mm bolts from front of compressor. Remove 13mm bolt on a/c lines in the back of the compressor. Remove 2 10mm bolts from rear of compressor. Should be able to snake it out then. I've done this twice now, once in my driveway and once on a lift. The latter is infinitly easier. Took less than an hour to remove old one and install new one.

Make sure there isn't any refridgerant in there before you remove the AC lines.

Re: Removing AC Compressor

Tiznodd, do you have any advice on getting to that rear 13mm bolt? Did you use an air ratchet or anything? I got all the way to this bolt and it just shut me down - I can't seem to find wiggle room back there.

Re: Removing AC Compressor

Well - seems I've answered my own question. After wrestling with the bolt from the top with no success, I found that a 6 inch wratchet will just fit in from underneath and give you just enough room to muscle that b*** out.
