Regaining momentum after 1st
Regaining momentum after 1st
I was wondering what the reason was for the "lack" of momentum when my A4 shifts inot second. When it hits 40 it shoots to 50 like no thing...but then it takes a moment...not seconds but hesitates as if to catch up with itself, then it starts excelating again. I want it to hit second and keep going fluidly. What could be the problem? Thanks
its the gear ratios of the a4. in the a4 1 and 2 are spaced way to far apart. you could get 3.73 gears. that would help the spacing but it would feel a lot better. the real solution is to convert to a m6 like i did.
I would LOVE to do that...but how and how much? If I could put a M6 in her for cheap(inexpensive...hate cheap)then I would in a heartbeat. How costly is the conversion. I know you have to just basically put in a clutch....but what elese?
yea you could sell all your a4 parts for a little over 1000 combined. then there are a few places that sell conversions kits for 1500 plus about 100 shipping. so i guess it should not cost you much over 500.
Yeah, I did a search and read that about the conversion kits. 1500 bucks isn't bad, yet from a junk yard how do you know what the milage is on them and the longevity and reliabilty of the tranny? If I could get 1000 for my a4 then I would do it.
