Rearend whine?
They never mentioned anything about "races" so I doubt it. I'm planning on taking it back when the weather permits. What exactly are races?

Races. The bearings fit into the races. It is superhardened(that's a technical term
) steel and very smooth. Basically the bearing just rides in it. Look at the pic in the link below, it's just a sketch, but it shows the bearing and the race.
Essentially if any of the races were worn, this will interfere with the bearing trying to ride on a smooth surface, which could cause the whining noise you are hearing.
I would definately ask about this. Every install kit i have come across that has the bearings, also includes new races.
