Rean main question

I am seeing oil spots on the ground, it's not tranny fluid as I first thought. I searched the forum here and I checked the manifold gasket in the back of the engine and it's not wet. Is the only thing that can be leaking is the ream main seal? I dont think that it could be anything else at this point...any suggestions?

Re: Rean main question

Valve cover gaskets??? Is the leak in the center of the car or off to one side? Maybe oil pressure sending unit??? Is the oil filter tight???

Re: Rean main question

You can get some oil dye to help you pinpoint where it is leaking or you can clean everything real well, drive it, then observe.

Re: Rean main question

I found that my rear main seal is leaking also, it's comming out around the tranny gasket, almost looks like the gasket came out a little, i'm not an expert but i need to fix it some how. if i get it all clean and put some rtv sealent around it will it hold? has anyone else fixed this problem without dropping the oil pan?
