Have you checked the plugs lately? Excessively large plug gaps can cause even the best wires to start arcing, as the voltage required to fire the plugs increases with the wider gaps.

I gapped them all at .035 when I put them in.

Re: Read my LT1s dyno

I went an checked the resistance on 3 wires real quick since they were easy to get to. 2 checked out fine. I would stick the multimeter ends in and it would give me a number and hold it. (both came out between 40-50ohms like the site said)

But on the 3rd one, I couldn't get it to hold a number no matter what I did, I'd stick both ends in, a number would pop up for half a second and then back to 0.

Now this was only on 3 wires out of the 8? Maybe I got a bad batch? Gonna swap in some stock autozone ones tomorrow and see.

Re: Read my LT1s dyno

Stock wires are in. No more misfires around 6k accelerating on the highway normally is smoother. Car feels quicker. No more rave under the hood. There is a few arcs, one right on the coil itself, 2 at sparkplugs on the 1 and 3 cylinder. And I can see the spark travel through 2 of the passenger side wires, im thinking its happening because i have those 2 ziptied to 2 metal hoses.

Im replacing the autozone streetfire coil later soon with an MSD one and im going to track the car next sunday to see if there are any differences.

Maybe ill burn the MSD wires.

Re: Read my LT1s dyno

Dear Diary,

After going to the track today with my stock wires inplace of my ****ty arcing MSD wires, I went from 82mph to 84mph. But my ET stayed the same.

Today was also the first day I ever raced on drag radials, but nothing improved! I still ran the same 60ft as I do on street tires (1.8) and my ET was the same. (although times were consistent which I liked)

I tried stalling up in D, I tried stalling up in 1st. Then I tried flashing it in D, and then flashing it in first, and no improvements. Same 60ft and ET.

I also had a grudge race against my LS1 buddy. He ran a 8.0 at 84mph with a 1.7 60ft, and I ran a 8.3 at 84mph with a 1.8 60ft... Hmmm, time for another dyno and re-tune.

End entry.
