Rassin Frassin Headers bolts!!!!! ANYONE in

They're driving me nutz!!!. Every other week I have to tighten them down. They are only the rears. #7 and 8. Why only the rears and how do I get rid of the problem.

you don't need stage 8 locking bolts, you need to be religious about tightening them in the beginning. When I first installed mine I tightened them after letting the car idle for a bit, again after a 10 minute drive, again after a 2 hour drive, and then every week. Did that for about a month and haven't had a header bolt loosen on me since. If its coming loose every 2 weeks, shorten your schedule and tighten once a week until they don't loosen anymore.

Its a lot better than having to dink with those stupid little clips on the stage 8's...

I've got the stage 8's but you can't use the clips on most of the bolts... they are too close to the header. Still easier though because you can use an allen wrench.

so just tighten them more frequently even when they're not loose at all or barely loose? I'll try that. Any other suggestions?

Breslin header bolts...I cant say enough good things about them. Stage 8 bolts are nothing compared to the Breslins.

just keep tightening them loose or not unti lthey all stop being loose...then leave it for longer and see if they loosen. I don't have to look at mine at all anymore.

I used ARP 3/4 bolts, everyone said use 1" though..no problems at all.

If the Stage 8's don't fit what you want to do is file them down a bit then slide them in.

Tighting them up every week? no way, now thats a pain when your in a hurry.

Are you guys sure Breslin bolts work?

In theory they should work as planned... however the design just doesn't make me comfortable using them in aluminum heads. The thead BOTTOMS squeeze out into the aluminum, and you pray that the little allen-head doesn't strip (which they always seem to for me ).

I'm going with ARP 12-point bolts... 1" long. Considered studs, but the area in there REALLY is tight... I dunno if it's worth the extra effort/cost.
