racenet.net...thumbs down

Not sure if this post belongs in here but thought it might be useful info. www.racenet.net has awesome prices, lowest I can find anywhere....but good luck gettin it. You have to call about 10 times in order to get someone on the phone (just keeps ringing and ringing), then its fine, they take the order quickly and easily. But I ordered a CC cam $215, and 8 NGK TR55s @ $2/ea. What I recieved from UPS today was a cam (at least its the right one) and no spark plugs, they didnt charge me for the plugs, but they charged me $239 for the cam so $248 total w/shipping. Another thing, the friggin cam does not have any lube with it, and I know they are supposed to come with lube.

I am trying one more time with them, if its not a good experience higher prices better service here I come.

I ordered once from them..no problems. I even forgot to order something so I called them and had them cancel my order so I could re-place it with the missing stuff. *shrug*

they might be pretty busy im taking it, but still i'd be pretty pissed b/c even if they are busy, its their job to make sure that they actually take the order and fulfill it, i mean its not that hard to write something down and keep track of it. I dont get how they could get half of the order right when it should be on the same piece of paper or on the screen right next to the cam ya know?

Sometimes there will be confusion im sure, but it wasnt like u ordered a ton of things, it was just thhe simple plugs and a cam and they still botched it up...but yea that sounds good, give them another shot and hopefully everything works out ok.

Good luck!

I know what you mean, I ordered a cam and springs on DEC 3, got the springs a week later but never got the cam. I call all the time and can never get a hold off anyone.

Seems to be a recurring problem with them over the last year/year and a half. I've seen some diehard customers of theirs finally give up and go over to Thunder, Tbyrne, LS1Speed, etc.

If they can get away with it and still stay afloat (a la SLP), I wouldn't expect to see any changes for the positive any time soon.

I've had problems with them in the past too, I don't recommend them to anyone.

I order everything I can from Thunder Racing. I to had a bad experience with racenet, but the guys at Thunder are fast, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Well, looks like I retract my statement partially. Finally got a hold of them today, still think their phone answering skills are ****ty, but the guy I talked to was my original rep, and he said that when he put it in right after it went in he noticed that he put it in for the original price for the cam, and changed it but it didnt get changed quick enough. So whether I would have called or not the plugs are on the way and an $8.95 credit for the cam, yes. And they shipped my spring seats out the day after I ordered them. So I give them some better karma, but they still need to learn how to answer the phone.

To say RACENET sucks is to say:
The Grand Canyon is a hole in the ground

PLEASE check the link in my signature re: Why Racenet sucks

Somebody email the turds and tell them this thread is here. I did that when they screwed me and they emailed and huffed and puffed, but you what they can blow.

I ordered O2 wire extenders for $30 u.s. which ended up costing $150 cdn because they said the "value" of the package was $300 and customs charges the receiver according to how much the value is.

All they offered me was an "oh sorry about that hehehe".

When they first opened in the mid 90’s they were great. Best service and support you could get. However, they seemed to have gone over to the dark side and started doing things less than ethical or even perhaps just plain greedy.

Not only did I not get the proper credit on some returned items, but bought a 396 block that wasn’t clearanced for the cam and wasn’t balanced correctly. It also contained parts that were cheaper than what was listed it contained.

I personally will never do business with them anymore. Fool me once…….. shame on me. Fool me twice…….. shame on you. The shame is on them now.
