I can just hook the tach input to the white wire coming from the gauge cluster correct? as that is the tach wire coming from the pcm?

the light does have ground and power though b/c it will let me set it up, just wont flash at the rpm level.

i set it at 2100 rpms and revved to 3500 and it didnt do anything.

There is more than one white wire going to the cluster. You need the one in cavity "D5". Same wire that is in cavity "D" of C230 (and pin 13 of the pcm red connector).

The other one is for the skip-shift. That would be ironic for your shift light to coincide with the skip-shift light.
