Quick question on dampiner

Ordering an ATI one tonite for my build just checking if this one will be alright? Mods for motor in sig. 6200+ rpms.

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...2&sid=250#P963

This is what the part says

105-917271 ATI Serpentine Series Damper Assembly with Hub, Aluminum Shell 6-3/4" (Stock Diameter) LT1/LT4 F-Body

Will that be ok? Thanks alot once again guys/gals

sounds right. been using mine for a while. not 100% on the part number though. might want to consider getting an underdrive though since you are replacing it anyway

I suggest using the keyway with a key to hold it in place. Much safer than press fit.

The 6.78" diameter 917271 is the smallest diameter they sell for the LT1.

The ATI is a good piece. If you are going to the expense of buying one, you should get the most of it. To do so, call ATI and discuss with them which elastomer to use - they have like ten different ones, each is going to be best at around a certain rpm range. To get what you need, you may have to order directly from them which will cost a bit more.

If I were buying a generic damper, I'd go with Fluidampr as it is not as rpm specific, though it is a bit less effective.

No. I meant exactly what I typed. Did you take the time to look at the ATI spec sheet? What do they show the diameter as?
