what exactly is the little control box with the wires that is normally mounted on the factory air box lid ??

no sorry no pic... i just know it had two bolts holding it on the factory airbox... i did the ls1 intake conversion, and now it just sists there in place of where the box used to be, and i was just curious as to what it was. it is square in shape and has about 10? or so wires coming off its plug in

 

I'm interested in doing the LS1 Intake box so I could use my 02 SS Hood. How hard was it?

 

the swap was fairly simple and straightforward, i also did the ls1 front end conversion, so it made it a bit easier... but all in all there wasnt anything overly difficult about the swap... if you have any more questions feel free to pm me

edit: didnt notice you had the ls1 front end conversion... but yeah it is was a simple bolt on deal for me, i only had to drill two extra holes in my core support for the air lid base..

 

Probably the headlamp door control.

 

I know what you mean, I didnt know what was either when I installed my CAI, Kinda just left it there...

 

As Shoebox said... its the headlight motor controller.
