Quick idea's - crank no run
HOLY CRAP! The stealership wants $667.14 for a new distributor. Isn't that a bit much? At that price, I'm going to get the base unit from CarQuest for $230 and reuse the cap/rotor. Can anyone tell me if the Opti-I and Opti-II are interchangeable (except for the plug)?

It was full of rust and metal shavings. The opti wheel was covered in rust dust, so was the cap and rotor. Water was probably getting in through the input shaft and fouling things up. No doubt it was the problem.
You can not switch the vented and non-vented Optis, unless you get a new timing set, timing cover, harness and a cam with a larger pilot hole and a longer dowel pin. Here is the info:
