Quick Hooker LT question

My #1 primary slip fit is leaking and hooker told me to try some High Temp Copper RTV on it. I'm gonna take off the #1 primary and put it in the inner tube and then slid it on. I was just wondering if i could do this with the rest of the header in place and just removed the #1 primary or if i got to unbolt the whole drivers side header. Also i have Percy dead soft aluminum gaskets. Its not gonna mess up the gaskets if i do this is it?

I did it with the rest of the header in place and bolted down.

You'll be fine w/ taking it off.. It should be able to be wiggled out.. You might however need to loosen some of the header bolt's to help rotate it away and out.. Throw a thick layer of Copper RTV.. And i mean THICK!!! Inside the primary the slip fit tube goes into.. Not the slip fit itself.. But you can coat that liberally as well.. The more the better.. Then let sit for 24 hours before starting.. You should be ok for a lil while..

How long do you think the copper RTV will last. I don't want to be doing it every 1,000 miles or so. Also if it starts to burn off do you think that can ruin my o2 sensors?

I've got 7,000 miles since I did mine, seems OK to me.

Excuse me for interupting but I am going to put on some LT's soon, what kinda of 1/4 or Dyno numbers are you guys putting up with CAI/LT/Catbacks? Thanks. I am considering AS&M also even though I have the Hookers sitting here...something about those AS&M I just cant get them off my mind.

Bersaglieri, personally I would sell the hooker and get Pacesetters. Install was a breeze.
