Quick Help!!! How to turn the Flywheel when the engines Seized(T/C Removal)

OK I have a LT1 but its basically the same for everyone, I can get the Flywheel to turn because of the engine being seized, how do I go about getting the Converter and trans off?

I'm not exactly sure, but here is an idea. Try putting a pair of Vice Grips on the flywheel and have some one else turning the harmonic balancer. Whenever we've needed to turn the flywheel on our high compression racing engines we've always used vice grips for the extra leverage and of course grip. Maybe the vice grips, plus the extra muscle on the balancer will get you just enough. Good luck.

As far as I know you will have to pull out the trans with the torque converter still bolted to the flex-plate. If you can't turn over the engine there is no way to turn the flex-plate. Just my .02 Oh ya, drain as much of the trans fluid as you can before you do this. It will save you a BIG mess

Would it be safe to pull the bellhouse off with the converter still bolted to the flywheel? The engine and trans areo ut of the car.

Yes, it will be fine. I didn't know that the motor and trans were already out of the car. Just keep the trans level and pull it straight off. The Torque Converter will just slide right out. Just make sure that you keep the trans straight. Have someone on the bellhousing and someone on the tail casting. If you don't keep it straight or you put too much stress on the input shaft you will either break the shaft or worse yet the pump. The pump would probably give before the input shaft did.
