Exclamation Quick Evap ??

Please look at the EVAP diagram at the following link

http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/1996_evap.jpg

I have a question about the diagram, on my car the number 5 elbow is all cracked and worn. Is this a vacuum hose?? I have a rough idle and I noticed that this is in pretty bad shape. Even if it isnt a vacuum hose, what does it do and should I get that fixed??
Thanks in advance for the info.

It is the vacuum feed from the TB to the EVAP solenoid. You need it fixed.

It's possible. Any vacuum leak will upset what the computer is trying to do. It can compensate to some degree.

Is there any way I can test to see if thats what is causing it without going out and buying that piece. Like a temporary fix or something??

Simply plug the port on the TB. The EVAP won't have any flow and you might get a code or two, but there will be no leak.

Ok, I will probably just go buy the new elbow and see if it works instead of messing with possible codes being thrown. If that doesnt take care of it, any idea what else it could be. I have replaced the opti and IAT sensor. I have cleaned my TB and cleaned my IAC really good. I dont know what else to try!! Any ideas you have would help, you seem to know your stuff from other things I have read on here.

Not everyone has the capability, but the best way to know what is going on with your car is to look at it with a scanner or data logging software. If you can do that and learn what it all means, you be able to diagnose and fix most issues.

I have a laptop and some diagnostic software, I just need the cable to connect the laptop to the car, I will probably have to get that. Thanks for the help!
