Quick Carb Swap:can It Be Done?

Ok I am basically throwing around the Idea of swapping the carb setup on there. I basically would have to just buy the intake since I can borrow everything else needed. I would like to get some before and after numbers and see what it would get us.

My questions are.

Can I retain the stock opti unit or do I have to go to distributor.
What do I do for Fuel system? I dont think that you can regulate the stock setup pump for a carb setup because it will kill it. What are my choices?

That is basically it, those are my 2 main questions. Please no bashing like it has started on other threads. I want to try something different, if it doesnt work then I will put it back to the fuel injection setup.

There is a timing cover offered for the LT1 with the opti hole blocked off and the intake comes with a provision for a traditional distributor. You will not be using the opti or the computer in other words. Can't tell you much about the fuel pump though.

Is there a way you can still utilize the opti or no?

I'm assuming you mean the 4L60E? If so, then I doubt it. Too much electronics. You'd probably get it in there, put the sucker in drive and it would never shift... I think a 4L60 might work though, out of the 93s, 700R4s from previous years..
