Questions about a cat-back

About how much do you guys think it would cost to have a muffler shop take off my stock catback and weld in 3" mandrel bent piping for a catback? About how much HP will this give me if any? I already have a flowmaster 80 series, and i know those don't flow the best. Would this be worth the money? Thanks

Erik

Prices vary everywhere. I wouldnt pay more than 50 bucks personally. Go around and ask. Or call if you dont wanna drive. From what i have read catbacks will give ya about a .1 reduction/+1mph in the 1/4. Worth the $? Only if you wanna go faster

so basically u have an aftermarket muffler and just want to complete the rest of the catback yourself w/ 3 inch pipes....im not sure if i would be worth it....id just throw a 30 dollar cutout on, that w/ the flow. muffler it will sound good plus the cutout will give u more power and alot cheaper then what u talked about would. If you want to go your route i was just get a complete catback system...hookers a good inexpensive system...hope this helps

thanks for the help guys!

i would just get a complete catback system, but i was trying to make use of the muffler i already have and am short on cash. I know the cutout would give me approximately equal gains as a catback and is really cheap, but i don't really care for the sound. I think maybe i will just save up until i have enough for the hooker system or the SLP 2OTL.
