Question about engine/pcm harness.

I'm going to be performing a M6 to A4 swap in my '96 Z28. Right now I'm researching the wiring issues before I begin to purchase all the necessary parts.

I've already talked with someone that has done this swap and the easiest way to get around the wiring issues would be for me to just swap in a complete LT1/4l60e harness and PCM.

I already know that a '94 harness differs from a '95. My question is will a '95 or '97 harness work on my '96???

Anyone know???

Re: Question about engine/pcm harness.

You want a 96 or 97 harness for full functionality.

Re: Question about engine/pcm harness.

A 97 harness has a different coil connector. 96 would be ideal, but 97 will work with some minor modifications.

96 and 97 coils are the same, so the connector should also be.

Is the harness just a transmission harness, and does it go to the back of the PCM? Or do you mean replacing the entire harness?

Yes, there are differences between 95 and 96.
-coil plug is different
-96 has an EVAP vacuum switch, crank sensor, rear O2s -95 does not.

It is an engine/transmission harness.
