i've got a freshly built 383 stroker w/ a mild cam and 11.0 CR. I am noticing a little detonation running on 93 octane gas. as a test, i ran some octane booster with a tank of gas and the detonation went away. can someone tell me what this means exactly? i am trying to determine if it's something that i can address in my tune or if that's just going to be a fact of life for me from now on. i didn't really expect to be detonating at my CR running 93 octane gas.

The problem is either compretion or timeing advance. If I remember right pulling is timing with a tune sould take care of it. I would check with some other people as well, but I think that is it.
