Question about crank's rod journal size.

Is a 400 crank a wide or narrow rod journal (2.0 or 2.1")? I was told that all 400 cranks are a wide journal. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks guys.

It's not wide but small journal.

A 400 crank has the larger 2.100" rod journal and a 2.65" main journal. That means you can't drop it into a 350 or LT1 block unless you grind it down. At that point you might as well just buy a Scat stroker crank.

You are talking about grinding the main journals down right? Not the rod journals.

Yeah it's small (2.0") and larger (2.10") journal. You can even go down to 1.88" Honda or Quad 4 Journals.

Yeah you will be grinding down the main journals to have the crank fit in the 2.45" man journals of a Lt1/350 block.

That clear it up?
