question about 97 and up tail lights

I swapped in tail lights from a 97 into my 94, went to the recycling yard and bought the rear wire harness for the lights. (the harness I got were only put into the 97) I carefully traced every wire and spliced the bulb holders on to my harness. The lenses look great on my car, but the orange section is really bright at all times. AS bright as the red brake lights. The bulb # is 3057, not 2057, like the old bulbs. So finally heres my question. Should the orange section be as bright as they are?

I don't think my Amber lights in the back are on all the time. I thought it was just my front amber lights under my headlights.

I think the ones that stay on in the back are the amber ones on the bumper on the side. I could be wrong, but what you're explaining doesn't seem right for how bright the amber light is. It is pretty bright when it's blinking.

By the way, I'm refering to when the headlights are off during the day, but the amber lights are always on.
