The exhaust leak the size of a dime killed your performance, the fact your o2 sensors are unplugged killed your performance and the fact that you were running open headers robbed you of lots of torque. Get everything finished up and then race him.. Headers made a tire spinning difference off the line in my car and it definitely felt faster.

From the air fitting and running open headers your O2's were probably senseing a lean condition so told the PCM to throw more fuel in therefore killing your power. Get the hole fixed if that doesn't work add a foot or so of piping after the headers. Not sure how close the O2's are at the end of the collectors on the pacesetters.

I dont know what you guys consider big mods, but LT's may drop a tenth or three, but they are by no means a big power mod. I never said they werent a good mod, i said he wasnt going to walk someone he couldnt walk before, and I stand by that comment.

I see almost everyone saying i dont know what I am talking about has HUGE mods like CAI and lt4 knock modules, that explains it.

yep it wasnt a big mod for me either. i went from 13.5 to 12.9x and added 3 mph. yep i shouldnt have done them.

i had to do some tuning as well, but it was worth it.

and the dime size hole dont hurt nothing as far as his o2s, there not plugged in, but if he doesnt have them pluged in hes staying in open loop which will not use the power enrichment tables under wot.

get everything done then run him again

Pfft your opinion doesnt count since you only have small mods like a pro 5.0 and 1LE drivestaft

I know numerous folks pulling 5 tenths off their 1/4 mile times with LT's. But what do I know, I have a LT4 KM and CAI.

when i put shorties on my car, i felt the biggest difference out of any of the mods. Its the only mod i did where i was like, wow, this thing is damn fast now. Car didnt have to learn anything.

Tuning is not generally a free mod, and tuning a stock car alone can net you 1/2 a second. I have yet to see an lt1 car just slap on some headers and lose 1/2 a second. Of cousre headers/tuning/gears are good mods, but again SLAPPING ON HEADERS IS NOT GOING TO MAKE YOU A ROCKETSHIP. If he was hanging with a car before, he is not going to walk away from the same car after bolting on a set of headers.

Ummm ya cause a 13.5 car cant beat a 13.8-14.0 car. You just run a faster time, but your not ACTUALLY faster, you still sit next to a car you did when you ran slower. Hold on lemme get you another case of beer, the first one wasnt enough for you i think...

Im gonna go spray 150 shot and race my buddy that stays pretty much right next to me the whole 1/4 mile. Maybe now i can beat him by a 1/4 car.

Where did your 800 posts come from, hanging out in the social area BSing about non car stuff all day long? You obviously werent in here learning about what makes an LT1 faster.

What does beating have to do with walking away from. He said he couldnt walk away from a guy that he couldnt walk away from before....guess what, hes not faster. It takes more than slapping on headers to be much faster...LIKE A TUNE...genius.
As far as me posting goes, i dont glean all my knowledge from the wonderful world of the internet. I have helped work on cars much much faster than you will ever think of being.
