Pushrod length w/solid roller..

Decided to change my setup to a solid roller.. I have some brand new comp hi tech 7.150 pushrods. I went with those because my block is zero decked and my heads have been cleaned up and running a .039 head gasket.. Does anyone think Ill need a different length for the solid roller motor?

You'll have to get a measuring pushrod to be 100% sure, they are only $25 or so from summit. Every motor is different so the best way is to buy the length checker

only way to be sure is to measure them when you get the motor assembled. But 7.15 is probably way too short... depends on the lifters. Most SR lifters are shorter than HR lifters. My SR ended up with 7.850".

What lifter are you going to use? I went with Isky ReZone lifters which are significantly taller than stock and went to a 6.155 PR.

I used comp endurex lifters in mine and they are shorter than a stock HR lifter. Most solid lifters are shorter. Just depends on what you go with.

The chance of them being the right length is just about zero.

Did you have to or would you have to remove your heads to replace any of these lifters? What comp part number lifter did you get?

honestly I built it from the bottom up and ht elifters were already in when the heads went on. So I dont know for sure but I think they would fit just fine. I bought the lifters used here on the board. (barely used... run on a dyno and then removed) They were 888-16's I believe.

I checked the Comp Cams web page and 888-16 appear to be the same .300 taller as the 871-16 that we can not install without removing the heads.
