Pushrod length change when changing cam only???

Well i was looking at the AI cam package(Ai 226 / 234 - .540/.575 - 110 LSA ) and i like the fact that everything is included...im lazy

I was just wondering if the pushrod length change if you only change the cam and doesnt touch the head or rocker ratio(already 1.6)?

I think that right now im running some 7.20 inch long one.

Wanna now because i need to specify the length when ordering.

Thanks

7.2 is stock and it shouldn't change with the cam. You can get away with using the stockers, but most run chrome moly pushrods for peace of mind.

Btw...why cam only? Throwing in a set of 1.6rr and some springs will compliment the cam nicely.

With the heads staying mounted to the block (thus no milling or head gasket change) pushrod length should remain stock.

As Ron or Phil will most likely tell you they will not guarantee it will work, but it should. The proper way would be to get your package and install it, use an adjustable length pushrod and see what you need. Get back with them and order your pushrods

+1, call them up and talk to them. And just a heads up, S/A rockers won't work with beehives on stock LT1 valves so you will need new NSA rockers.

As a purist, I should say you must measure, and if you are going to get new PR's anyway, then you definitely should measure before ordering. But why not just keep your current R's and see if the length is still ok, then just re-use them if it is?

I cant reuse my rockers even if they are 1.6 because they are SA.

To find the correct length pushrods you have to have the correct geometry. Then to open Pandora's box what is the correct valve train geometry?

You can have 10 people and get 10 different answers. Not even all the cam companies agree on how to get the right geometry.

You're right, I made the assumption that he was retaining a stock base circle.
