Good article. I will have to go over it a few more times before I start my projects. The main thing going against me is I am doing this in a one car garage.

I read the page from the link http://www.michiganspeed.com/enginepull/index.html and it sure sounds like a lot of extra work. Im sure it does fine, Ive never tried it, but it was more than easy enough to just do out the top if you want.

I pulled mine in a day in winter outside, with a couple jackstands, a cherry picker and a $40 happy hooker from TPIS.

I have more pix going up on that link too for some of the other engine pulls we did this week (2.4 from a stratus for a neon, 4g63t and tranny from a talon, and another LT1 and 6spd from another 1LE Z), while we're on an engine pullin kick

Dude follow ken lowrance guide. It's only three bolts on each side of the crossmember plus 4 bolts on the tranny crossmember and the tranny mount. Oh yeah disconect all hoses from radiator and disconnect brake lines to the abs unit. Go get an engine hoist and FROM THE SIDE lift front end of car from metal bar behind headlights( the bar is hella strrong and won't bend) or you can waste 100 bucks on the edelbrock strut tower brace and use that as a lift point. Watch out the engine, tranny, wiring harness, would be complete. I had mine out in my driveway in two hours by my self. And I'll be the first to tell you I ain't no Mechnic or however u spell that. If you have a big jack and 4 jackstands would work to. Just get the car at least 4 feet into the air.

There is a large metal bar that is your front end support. The radiator shield is attached to it, I used the hook from the engine hoist to pull car in the air, make sure your center it or the car will come up at an angle. The bar where the hood latch is but on the inside(engine side). I had bought at STB just to remove my engine, but It's not needed anyway I bent the bar up jacking up the car. If you use the STB get a chain so that all the weight of the vehicle is not on one point on the bar. here's pic http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/pda...dir=/My+Photos
