front end pulled apart and cut out.

 

I was cleaning it up a bit and couldn't resist taking the valve cover off to take a peak inside. I was told this engine has 8k miles on it. I don't know if this it true, but it looks pretty clean although someone could have changed the oil sooner because its pretty dirty.

 

Got a little more stripping done. Just have the fuel tank and lines left to get out.




I got the red car out and the RS in.

 

 

I got the engine bay stripped and painted. I cleaned up all the parts I pulled off. I got the wiring harness and a few parts back on.

 

I got the engine pulled out of the corner and after having to clean trans fluid off the entire garage floor I got it set up and ready to work on cleaning it up.

 

I would replace those worthless plastic fuel lines with something better now that you have it apart. Mine burst on my 97 3.8 and were spraying fuel all over
the coilpacks got lucky no fire started.

That looks like a good idea. Maybe after I get this car going I can do that mod.

 

I started putting the engine back together today.

On a side note, I thought my car had the nastiest carpet before I replaced it. Looks like a tie hahaha.

During that ordeal I saw about a 2001 3.8 camaro at the junk yard and it had metal fuel lines that ran up up to the engine almost and did not go through the fender wells like a 97. Those might even be a better choice for you.

I got a little more work done today.

 

Just out of curiousity ... Would you be interested in selling the lower front control arms and L/F turn signal pigtail from the 1997?

 

I have to find out if the lower control arms are bent or not. I think the drivers side may be bent. If so then I will have to use the ones off the other k member.
