Is your security light on when you have the problem? If so you have a simple problem but by the sounds of it, the security light is not lit or blinking.

First you need to know that cranking and firing is 2 different things. The starter has nothing to do with ignition or even the alternator. If the clicking you hear is at the engine then you hear the solenoid trying to pull in. This would indicate you have a poor connection or the battery has a problem.

If what I think your saying is you hear a relay inside the cabin clicking then I think I can help you there. I believe what you are hearing is the theft deterrent relay.

First you need to rule out simple causes for the problem. Measure the voltage across the battery with everything turned off and again when someone is trying to crank the engine. Be sure that it starts at 12.6 and then stays above 11 when cranking. You should also check the ground wires to the frame and the body. Then check the 3 I/P fuses labeled Crank(16), PCM Ign(5) and PCM Bat(4).

Then we need some basic information about your vehicle like year, Man or Auto etc..... Assuming your problem is the theft deterrent relay, there are some things we can check to find the cause. First identify the relay by actually confirming which one is clicking. Remove the lower panel on the passenger side dash to find it. Once you do, let us know.

If it turns out to be the TD relay, I would start by looking at the clutch start switch if it's a manual tranny or the tranny position switch at the shifter if it's auto.

The starter finally kicked in. ALSO note. I have a RED light on my dash. I think it was put in by the last person that had my car. IT has a Very annoying high pitched sounds. And when ever I turn the key that PICTCH loweres a couple of OCTives. ALSO. my courtsey BEEB. IT goes crazy when I try and start it. SO maybe that will help
