My friend owns a 1995 Camaro Z28. A few weeks ago, the water pump went out hosing down the distributer on the front of the enigne. He had a water pump installed, but now the car runs horrible. At idle it runs really rough. If you try to accelerate it acts like at least 2 two plugs are fouled. Heres a strange part, periodically going down the highway, the check engine will come on and the car will run great. When the check engine light goes out, it is back to running bad. The rear bumper is now black from being rich. The gas mileage has gone down the toilet. On the highway running like this, it gets 6-8 mpg. Has anyone out there had any experience with their car doing this. I would think it is related to the distributer getting wet, but I don't know. He has been driving it now for 2 weeks or so. I would appreciate any help I can get on it. Thanks in advance.
