Problem??
Problem??
Took my 95 Z28 out today and probably drove it for a good hour the whole round trip. Drove just like normal. Took my car to a friends house and when i was on the way back home to pick something up i went over the curb up to my driveway and i noticed a small creaking noise. I just put my exhaust on about two weeks ago, so my first reaction was my exhaust maybe of fell and scraped the ground. Looked under and it was fine. Nothing was scraping the ground. Went out after that and just noticed when i was cruising at slow speeds there was this creaking sound. Maybe a shock or spring. I went outside my car and kind of pushed it on the sides by the rear wheel and no sounds.
Then i was cruising around waiting to use my friends lift in his garage so i could take a look at it, and my fans kicked in at about 180 degrees and my SES light went on. I usually dont notice my fans kick on unless its at or above 220. I shut it down and about 15 minutes later started it up and no SES light. The creaking noise only appears if i drive it slow and for a solid 10 minutes, after its warmed up a little. i have no idea what the problem is???? Ive only had the car for about two months and have a warranty, but worried if my exhaust can be a problem hear since its aftermarket. any input can help and also If the SES light appreared and then shut off, can they still scan for a problem?? It doesnt have to be on to scan, correct? Thanks and sorry for the long input, hoping its not a big problem .

Once the SES light comes on, the trouble code is stored in the PCM, and can be retrieved later.... just don't wait too long, since it will "self clear" after a certain number of drive cycles without the problem recurring.
