Power loss from rockers being too tight?
Power loss from rockers being too tight?
I kept having this tick so i decided i would adjust them at 3/4 turn past zero lash. I am now sure the tick is a lifter. Sucks that i have aftermarket lifters that are already going bad. It is not a loud tick so i am going to let it go for awhile. Think it would be beneficial to back them off a little bit over a 1/4 turn?

If you are nit picking, your car will most always make more power with less preload. For a street car, it is always a balance between power and noise.

Just wondering because my car seems to not make very much power up top. I have been shifting at about 5900, but i would like it to pull hard all the way to 6300 without falling off. My 306's power band would never fall off lol.
I don't think a 1/4 turn on the rockers is going to net you any gains that you are going to feel. I think part of reason your car feels slow up top is because you are used to the 306. The 305 just isn't the same. If you want the torque down low and the drivability then you did the right thing switching to the 305, but if you want all the pull at the top then you should've left the 306 in there. The best compromise is what you really want.
