Popping when warmed up after mods...

Ok guys, I have a question... It's been a while, so forgive my stupidity!

I have decided to finish up my old 97 Z28 so I can drive it again. While I was out this is a list of things I've done to her.

CC305 cam
1.6 rr's
Pace Setter heaters, ORY
02 delete
EGR delete
new plugs, wires, opti, waterpump, etc
tubular cross member
and I am sure I am leaving some other stuff out- it's been a long process! lol

While running cold the car runs strong, after the car warms up it will make a loud pop from the exhaust- not just 1, the pop will repeat fairly frequently when cold. Now, keep in mind I have not tuned for any of these mods... I feel as though this could be a major contributing factor in this problem. I would like to know, however if there is some other problem that I may be overlooking before I send it off for a flash.

I checked with the Tech 2, I am showing a few codes- EGR (of course), 02 sensors and such...

Which O2 sensors did you delete - hopefully only the after-cat sensors? If you deleted the cats, you are going to get popping in the exhaust from unburned hydrocarbons.

Under what conditions do you get the pop - idle, steady low RPM cruise, WOT accel, closed throttle decel?

Definitley needs to be tuned.

Mainly at idle... Under load it doesn't seem to effect it. I figure chances are it will be in the tune. And yes, bank 1 & 2 sensor 2 downstream was eliminated. I also was suspicious of the EGR delete. I've never done that on one before.

It's pretty absurd to even consider attempting to diagnose the problem before you get it tuned.

I figured if there was a problem I just as well get it corrected so when I carry it 150 miles to the nearest LT1-competent dyno-equipped tuner I won't have to correct the problem and make the trip multiple times. Seemed like the best way to handle the problem before the problem? SO, I assume you probably think it's in the tune? Not a problem there- I will load it behind the one ton next weekend for a trip to Baton Rouge!
