Plug wires?

I need new spark plugs and wires due to a misfire. The previous owner put on the looms that latch onto the side of the valve covers. Can i buy a plug/wire kit for the LT1 or do i have to buy wires that are longer and cut to fit? Would it be worth running the wires back to the stock location or should i keep them the way they are? What brands of wires do you guys recommend?

Re: Plug wires?

I used to have a set of msd stock location wires. But once I put on headers a few of them didnt work out for me. So I got a set of LT1 msd cut to fit wires. I think they were around $90 or so on summit racing. Not very hard to do so I recomend the cut to fit ones.

Re: Plug wires?

Anything but Elite Spark Plug wires. That company absolutely is horrible to deal with. The best wires in my opinion are custom made Magnacore's.

Re: Plug wires?

I have Mangacore wires in the stock locations and they have been great. I don't know if it's worth switching back to the stock locations, but they make great wires.

Is it hard to work with the cut to fit wires? What are some decent plugs?

I've used Bosch Plats. CRAP! Autolites, they were doin a great job until they fouled. I'm going with NKG TR55's The NGK's seem to be the plug of choice around here.

Re: Plug wires?

the tr55's are definately a good plug. and for wire someone already did the hard part for you. get taylor over the valve cover wires they are specific for your setup. over the valvecover if you have headers is definately the best way to go. i pm'd also.
