I used the cheap Spectre stuff from jegs. Put two layers on each wire. To test it i put a single layer on an old wire laid it on an exhaust manifold. Didn't damage the wire althout i'm sure my headers get hotter than that manifold did. I think you should route them so they don't touch and just use the insulation for 'insureance'.

I used the Taylor extreme ones from Summit, about $50. I think they were good up to 1200*'s. I wouldnt use them again. They are staright and fit like crap on the 90* boots. Also they are real big around and touch the headers on a couple of spots. The heat turned them white, they are orginally red.
I am going to hold out for an OVC kit later on in the new year. Hows the car coming?

I use Taylor heat sleeve. Not cheap ($10 each) but it works great. See pic.

I used Taylor Firesleeve where the wires were close to the headers, them seem to be holding up well.

Asian- What wires are those? MSD's?
I used those same boots on a set of Taylors and they run to close to the JetHot LT's. I think a zip tie on mine would cook off in no time being so close to the headers. The wires arent really long enough to effectively tie them up away from the headers.

Those are my MSDs wires from last year. I had no problems with the zip ties with my FLP LT set-up. I am now using Taylors 8mm wires with the same heat sleeve.

Well, it's slowly moving along now. I've got the OVC kit, but that coupled with the ASM headers doesn't leave room for a few wires. Five of my old ones had pretty bad heat cracking on them. I was looking at the taylor firesleeves, but seeing how bulky they are is making me think no. I remember an issue of GMHTP where they did the wires on 'The Grape of Wrath' and they used Earls Flame Guard, which summit conveniently doesn't sell anymore. I'm looking for that stuff.....

As for the car, hopefully the wires and new plugs (old ones were FOULED) does the trick. It's the only thing I can think of at this point, because everything else checks out. Hopefully, with any luck, I'll be able to hit the dyno again and finish the tune and then swap the 1.7's in.
