plug wire clearance from header 1/8"

Is this enough space? I have the Taylor 8mm ovc kit from Thudner Racing. It is tied strong and won't move, but it is close to the header. Will this burn?

It's possible...

You should have gotten the elitesparkplugs.com wires that come with 1200 degree heat shields. If you position them right, they shouldn't burn.

Or you could get those aftermarket firesleeves. I've heard they work well.
I'm going to use those when I install my headers. I have cheap(but new)wires, so I'd rather use the wires for awhile before scrapping them.

I think these sleeves are a little expensive, though. Maybe someone will chime in and help us both out with a cheaper alternative...

I think those sleeves are about 2-4 dollars per sleeve? If you got only the ones needed where it was too close, it shouldn't be expensive.

What brand sleeves are those? Are the ones in the generico import section of advance auto heat resistant enough? I was thinking of the taylor firesleeves...

Here they are at summit...

no: those sleeves work ok but they do not give you the protection like our wires. (Those type of sleeve tend to slip around the wire plus they look like: barf: after a few heat cycles.....

Check out what our wire look like compared to the regular heat shield stuff you get from summit.

check out our wires and you can really see the difference and quality

Wow, I wish I would've gotten those wires...for now my dad made a little heat sheild out of sheet metal that hangs off the wire on the side where it's near the primary. We'll see how that goes.
