Pistons for 396 stroker?

I need to get some pistons made up for my 396 buildup. I have looked around, but cant find exactly what I am looking for ready made. What brand is the best quality for the price on custom pistons, I am hoping to get out for $600-$700 if possible for pistons, rings, wristpins and locks.

Thanks

Diamond makes a very nice (396) piston, as does SRP. Tough to beat for the money.

Diamonds all the way. They have a set of 1" CH pistons so you could possibly run 6" rods on a 3.875 stroke. It would keep your rod ratio up a little, but im not sure if it's such a good idea to have the rings up that high. Rich or Mindgame would know.

I already have the crank and rods
3.875 eagle forged crank
5.85 eagle H-beam rods
I am wanting about 9.5:1 compression as I am supercharging it

What are your srp's and how much Fran?

I take it that you're planning to use aftermarket heads??

It really depends on what I can afford. There is a local machine shop that I have to call about changing the seats, if they can do it, I am going to home port them to save $.
This is probably one of the smallest budget supercharged strokers being built...so far I have managed to trade out parts or labor for about everything.

I didn't think it was possible to get the compression that low with stock heads on a 396. I'm building a 383 with 33cc dished JE pistons on 5.7 rods for a turbo and the compression is supposed to be around 9.2:1 with a flat deck and 58cc heads.

I have been told it can be done, but I may have to get inserts for the wristpin holes to one or two rings which I dont care for, but may have to do.
