Performace Question

Does it take alot to get an LT1 car to run with an LS1? I have a 95 LT1 A4 currently with CAI and Hooker cat back. Last time i went to the track i ran a 13.7 @ 100 which i thought was pretty good until i see the LS1 guys running low 13's high 12s with just a lid and catback. What does it take to run numbers like that with the LT1? Kinda makes me wanna go with an LS1 now

Re: Performace Question

What could be done to gain more top end performance on an LT1? I hear the LS1s have great top end.

Get some long tubes then a cam if you want more top-end pull. Since you have an auto an aftermarket converter will be necessary to get the best performance and drivability out of your car.

When I did both my times were 13.5 @ 105. The tranny was slipping sometimes between 2nd and 3rd so never got to see the full potential. Thats when I went to the m6 and now the 60 ft is hurting me like crazy. Guess I need slicks.

Re: Performace Question

Mods in sig I can pull a little on my buddies LS1 Camaro with SLP lid and Loudmouth from a highway roll, but under 65mph its all LT1. My car also weighs more and has larger/heavy rims/tires.

Re: Performace Question

Right now on street tires I run 13.7-13.8 with a 2.2 60 A4 car. Nitrous plugs, did not have the fuel pump booster harness hooked up.

Hold off LS1 cars till the 1/8th Around 80mhp they catch up.

No LS1 car around here thats near stock wants to run me in the 1/8th on street tires HAHAHA

I don't have a lot, some suspension, tune, weight and other basic stuff.

Once I throw on my pro stars with the E.T.'s it will be door to door threw the traps or super close.
Once I hit the little red button it will be all over HAHAHA. Stall and headers next and that will take them on the motor.

Cold air, 1.6 roller rockers, tune, long tubes and exhaust, at least a 3.42, sticky tires, stall should do it.
