Percy's Dead-Soft Aluminum -OR- Earl's Pressure Master

Which one should I get?? I can't get my felpro 1406's to seal and I've already replaced each side once and I torqued and retorqued them until there was no more torquing to be done and ALL my bolts stay in and don't come out but the damn things still leak. Which gasket is better in your opinions? I like the Percy's because it has hooks. If I got the earl's I would have to cut hooks in them because I don't want to remove the first/last bolts...

Thanks.

I am installing SLP shorties for the first time and am trying to make the same decision. Had two people (non-GM gearheads) suggest that the Earls were overhyped. They look like quality units though.

Any thoughts on drilling the need holes in stock metal gaskets? I bought some when I was just fixing an exhaust leak, until I discovered the broken bolt

Still on the fence for header bolts too.

Thanks

I think I'm going to with the Percy's gasket... I had Earl's before and to me they seemed very flimsy. The inserts kept falling out and I could not get the gasket to stay in place.

I would say don't use Earl's because when I opened from the package half of them just fell apart. I don't like the material there made of at all.

Not speaking from my own experience, but from what I have read on the board, Percy's is the way to go.

I've decided on Percy's. Only problem is, I don't know if I need 1" bolts or not... Anybody have insight on this?? I'm about to order 1" inch ARP 12 pt. heads if I need them. I have 3/4" Stage 8's right now.

Get at least 1" bolts. The more tread you have in there, the better they will hold.

I had the Fel-Pros any they leaked on my SLP shorties. I went with the Earls over two years ago and have been leak free ever since.
