The Vortech elbow already has a threaded hole for the sensor. You are supposed to cut threads into your sensor in order for it to screw into the hole. I just drilled the hole out a bit more in order to stuff the sensor in there. I got a nice snug fit and used a tiny bit of High temp RTV just to seal it up good.

I went ahead and did as Vortech describes in their instructions and while I like the finished product it was a bit of trouble.

The tap described is not real available. I finally found one at my local hardware store. I think it is a tap size used for plumbing as it wasn't at any auto parts stores or my Home Depot. The one I bought came with the correct size drill bit.

Then the sensor itself must be threaded with a die and then the plastic on the end protecting the sensor itself was to big so I filed it down. However, I did get it all in and painted my elbow black. I like the looks of it. And I like that it doesn't looked kluged with RTV and it runs great.

Here is a link to a picture.

Now to get the rest of the engine looking so good.

Talking

My sensor fits into the hole perfect and does not have any RTV visible, it is not Kluged. I only used a little bit. It looks and works great! thank you very much.

BTW, why would anyone pay for a vortech elbow if you wanted to just paint it black anyways?

That elbow looks great. Are you going to be doing anymore wet sanding to it?

Thanks, continuing plans are to detail the engine compartment with cleaning and a throttle body cover and including a better finish on the elbow.

That's going to look nice. Be sure to post some pics up in the appearance section when finished.
