PCV valve question, please help

Is there suppose to be a hose connected here.... driver's side in the middle of the intake.... and should it go the the front of the intake under the throttle body? On the side of the intake in the middle, all I have there is a black rubber groument with a hole in it. I think this is suppose to be my PCV isn't it?

please help........

If you don't have it:
1. It can't draw out the crankcase vapors into the intake manifold bacuse it uses the manifold vacuum to draw it out.
2. You won't draw the blowby to the combustion chamber.
3. When the engine is off or backfires, the PVC closes so it won't let blowby back into the intake manifold. It could ignite the fuel vapors in the intake manifold.

That's all I can remember. I'm sure there's more to it. Maybe somebody else can add to it.

You can clearly see it how it's routed from my intake manifold.

You won't likely see any codes. The more curious thing would be if the port under the throttle body is also left open. That would cause a vacuum leak and maybe some idle/driveability problems.

The open hole where the PCV should go should not be left open. It can only help in dirt getting into your engine.
