PCM wiring issues

I bought a 96 iron head LT1 from a Caprice, which had the OBDII PCM, and I sold the PCM and bought an OBDI PCM from a 95. I downloaded the wiring schematics from shbox, and tonight I decided to label each wire to make life easier when I convert the harness to OBDI and install everything.

but I am running into a serious problem. the schematics are not showing the right color codes for the wires.

Did the different vehicle models use a different wire color code or what?

Also, does anyone know where there is a diagram with the harness layed out and that shows what each of the connector's go to? That would be extremely helpful at this point.

This is my first LT1 engine ever so I only have limited knowledge, and I'm trying to swap the engine into an 83 TransAm while maintaining computer control. I dont want to use a carb, but if I cant figure all this out I may have no choice temporarily.

If you have a Caprice harness, it could have some different colored wires, though I would expect most to be the same. The f-body wiring info on my site show every color of wire and what it goes to.

Did you find the F-Body harness on Shoebox's site:

It's the very first thing listed in the Schematics/Wiring section.
