Passing Emissions

I just bought some Pacesetter long tubes with emissions stuff on them, and I wanted the race version long tube, I heard your car will run a lot better with all of them out. but I am worried about passing emissions. If i get my computer reprogrammed so i wont throw codes will they still be able to see that I dont have any emissions on? I have to go to emissions in June and i am throwing a code because my cats are bad, but I was just going to take them off anyways.
Did anyone take off all of their emmissions and reprogrammer thier computer and pass?

where are you located? generally the emissions on headers is rather important. without the header fittings for emmissions you will most likely not pass visual

as far as i know there is always a visual part and a tailpipe part. it does depend on where you are though. i am in california, so they pretty much strip search me for modifications at the test only stations

Whatever you heard about a car running better without emissions equipment is incorrect. The emissions does not effect the performance of your car. If you have all of the emissions equipment removed and the codes tuned out of your PCM, you still run the risk of not passing due to too many "not ready" statuses present in the PCM.
